The Wild Eyed Boy from Freecloud () is a 1968 French–Spanish co-production directed by François Truffaut.
The film, Truffaut's directorial debut, is based on the novel by the same name by Jean Séraire. It stars Danielle Darrieux, Anthony Perkins, and Frank Gabel. The film tells the story of the relationship between a soldier and the woman he loved before he was sent to the Vietnam War, and is known for its sequences of young lovers walking down the street.

Plot
In the late 1960s, Elio (Anthony Perkins) travels to New York to sell some paintings, but finds himself short of money. After touring a restaurant called "Freecloud", he learns that it is owned by Lisa (Danielle Darrieux), and when he goes to the toilet he discovers a note written in lipstick telling him to come back at night. Returning, he finds Lisa sitting in the same seat, and they spend the evening together, kissing passionately and going back to her room for sex. When they finish, he finds a note saying "thank you for coming".
A few weeks later, he sees her again at the same restaurant, and goes over to talk to her. She tells him that she is married, but that she is hoping to reconcile with her husband, who she feels has been neglecting her. They make love, and the next morning he returns to her apartment, where he finds her husband watching television. He offers to look after the cat and prepares breakfast. Lisa's husband leaves, and when he returns, the two men fight. Elio throws a glass of water at him, and the man hits him over the head with the bottle.
